Denise is a painter who lives in Half Moon Bay, California. She specializes in
watercolor and ink paintings on rice paper, combining traditional Chinese brush technique with contemporary splash ink methods. Her coastal landscapes depict her love of the ocean and the translucent colors of the California coast. Denise began her art career in 1982, when she found her love for black and white photography. She has studied photography, printmaking, and painting at Smith College, the Northwest Center of Photography, the Anderson Ranch Art Center, the Pacific Art League, and San Mateo College. She began studying with Hau Pei Jen in 2007, and has Her work has been exhibited in museums, galleries, and corporate collections, including Silicon Valley Asian Art Center, Triton Museum of Art, Benham Gallery, the Pacific Art League.
